Budget Friendly Super Bowl Snacks with Mariano's Fresh Market

I'm not a huge football fan, but even I have some excitement building around the 2013 Super Bowl. I enjoy gathering with family and friends to rate the commercials, watch the halftime performance and of course cheer on our favored team. This year I thought it would be fun to create a dish to take with me to a Super Bowl gathering. This is new for me since I'll usually pick up something at the store on the way to a friend's house. I also headed to one of my favorite sites, Pinterest, to get some Super Bowl party ideas. There are so many budget friendly ideas for a fun gathering at your home. Since my recent move I've wanted to have more gatherings at my house now that I have more space. Pulling together this Pinterest board definitely put me in the mood to begin thinking about hosting a fun party. This was also a time to check out a new grocery chain that has been generating buzz in the Chicagoland area, Mariano's Fresh Market. I've heard great things about their prices, their coupon program (they double manufacturer coupons on Wednesdays!!) and their friendly staff.

I decided to check out  Mariano's Fresh Market's website to get some ideas for a quick appetizer. I love that they have their recipes, shopping list and coupons in one place. This made planning my trip smooth.

There  are so many options for recipes that fit your lifestyle. When I clicked on the "Salsas, Dips & Spreads" option I saw a Warm Parmesan Spinach Dip. The ingredients, directions, and nutritional information was all listed. I decided that I would switch up the recipe just a bit and add Artichokes.

Here's the Mariano's recipe, I added some things of my own
Ingredients
  10oz spinach
  1/2 cup sour cream
  2 teaspoons minced garlic
  3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  2 cups mozzarella cheese
  1 can artichoke hearts
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F.Stir spinach, sour cream, artichoke hearts, minced garlic mozzarella cheese and, 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese together in a large bowl.
Pour into an oven-safe baking dish coated with cooking spray.
Bake in oven for 20 minutes.

I love OrganicGirl greens! They aren't in a lot of stores so whenever I see them I snatch them up.

This was my first time ever buying artichoke hearts so I didn't know which brand to purchase.
Kraft cheese is my favorite brand of cheese, can't go wrong.

Everything is mixed together and ready to go in the oven!

When I make this next time, I think I will use the frozen spinach because I think my spinach was too big. Either way it was yummy!

Check out my Google + album to see my trip to Mariano's and how my Spinach Artichoke Dip turned out!

Be sure to check out Mariano's Fresh Market on Twitter and Facebook.
