Last year I decided to track my spending for a month and was shocked to learn that fast food was creating a huge dent in my budget. There were many nights when I was rushing home and realized I had forgotten to take something out of the freezer or didn't have the ingredients I needed for the meal I wanted. This would lead me to the closest drive thru for another dinner. Not only did this drain my wallet, it added to my waist.
This was also around the time I decided to purchase a subscription to eMeals. In one email I was amazed at how it simplified our dinner routine. It also introduced my family to meals we probably wouldn't have eaten otherwise. When you think about the amount of time it takes to scan cookbooks, search Pinterest, create a meal plan, make a grocery list, go to the grocery store,
prepare the meals, and maybe go back to the store for a few forgotten
ingredients, it's just exhausting.
If this all sounds familiar to you, perhaps the one new addition to your family in 2013 should be to start meal planning. Whether you use
a program like eMeals to do it all for you from the meal plan to the shopping
list, or you dedicate a few hours at the beginning of the week to do it
yourself, meal planning will ultimately save you time, money, and stress.
eMeals has given me the opportunity to share this special discount code newyear with my readers , so check it out and tell me what you think!

This is a great idea. I need to start planning meals, because there are times where I just forget to pick something up. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI should really check this out. As a working, single mom, I try to maximize the time I have with my daughter when we get home. I keep some that I am going to meal plan, so perhaps this is the motivation I need.
ReplyDeleteI love planning my meals. It is actually a fun part of my week. I have created a library of 62 meals. I simply rotate them through the menu. I know, boring. But it works for our family of 7.
ReplyDeleteThis year I decided to go on a food and financial diet. Meal planning is a very important aspect of it. Most of the time when I have the urge to eat out it is because I have no clue what to eat. I'm an attorney by day and I'm launching www.noirlove.com at night so I'm busy ALL THE time. I'm glad you are so satisfied with eMeals. I'm going to spread the word!
ReplyDeleteI've recently started planning my meals after I tracked my spending back in December. We used to eat out a lot and looking back, I really spent entirely TOO much on fast food. So far, I haven't gone to a fast food restaurant for a meal (only a quick snack twice but I haven't spent over $5 yet). It has only been 12 days but I am very proud.
ReplyDeleteI plan to continue to try and plan my meals because it's a method that really works and I've grown to love cooking more and more each day!
