There is no doubt that being a parent, particularly a single mother, is the hardest thing I've ever done.
It's extremely rewarding to be a mother to my son, but it's also tiresome to care for my family on my own. However, with God and my amazing support system, I have been able to make it and decided to create Simple Solutions for Single Moms Series.
Starting March 4th, I will be posting simple household solutions for single moms. These solutions are things I've learned through trial and error during my 6 years as a single mom. With time and money at a premium, it's important that you create systems and routines to create a sense of stability for your child and sanity for you. More often than not when I read blogs or books written for moms, there's an assumption of a husband or partner in the home who can help. It's definitely time for something specifically for those of us parenting alone.
If you are a single mom reading this, I hope you will share your thoughts in the comments. My hope is to create a community where we can learn and grow together. And if you have ideas for issues you'd like for me to address, feel free to email me. I realize that each of us have our own experiences and needs. Whatever your situation, I pray that you find this helpful.

I am looking forward to reading these post. I must agree being a single parent is the hardest job I ever had, and it gets harder each day.
ReplyDeleteYay! And if you have any topics you'd like to see, let me know.
DeleteI would love to read this also. Although, I am not a single mom, I certainly feel like it. My husband, who would help if he could, is not home during the week (including Saturdays) much because of his LONG hours. So, raising these 5 children, cleaning and cooking are all on me. When he does come home, I am blessed to have at least a sympathetic hug from him after telling him about my day, but it doesn't get anything done.
ReplyDeleteHi Alicia, I hope that this series is helpful for you as well! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteA friend forwarded me your post. I've been a single mom for over three years now and I look forward to following the series. I, too, have longed for a community of women who are in my same situation. Thanks for providing it!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenni! Thanks for stopping by. I'm excited to build this community with you!

ReplyDeleteThrilling! I'm not single, but my husband has been deployed for 3 years, so I feel like it (we've only seen him about 6 weeks in three years, and we've still got 7 months to go). I look forward to reading it and what others contribute. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a soon-to-be single mom (8 more weeks) and I need all the help I can get. There isn't a lot out there for single moms and I'm tired of all the "For Dad" tips on my apps... I'm looking forward to your blog and the helpful tips to come!!
