In the midst of all of this snow and ice there is a special day that makes us warm and fuzzy, Valentine's Day. I like to think about Valentine's Day as a time to reflect on all the people and things I love. It's not just about the boxes of chocolate, the special jewelry or even the bunches of roses. It's about how I feel when I think about a person or experience. While I don't have a Valentine this year, that doesn't mean I can't make the day special!

The one thing I love and look forward to each year is my son's birthday. It's our special day to celebrate another year of our family and his growth. Since his first birthday I've tried to make each birthday special and fun. Last year he had a dinosaur themed party at a local art studio. We spent two hours making everything from dinosaur masks, fossils, dioramas, and picture frames. It was a great time to connect his two loves, dinosaurs and art! We'll see what we do for his 7th birthday this year!
